About the Course

The Fitter trade trains students in precision metalwork and mechanical assembly. Over two years, trainees gain hands-on experience with cutting, filing, drilling, welding, and machine operations. The program develops both practical skills and technical knowledge for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and components.

First Year

  • Perform marking, sawing, chiseling, filing, drilling, and grinding.
  • Manufacture sheet-metal items and join by soldering, brazing, or riveting.
  • Perform arc and gas welding operations safely.
  • Operate lathe for turning, threading, boring, and finishing tasks.
  • Conduct basic repair and overhauling of machines.

Second Year

  • Perform precision fitting.
  • Make gauges, pipe joints, drill jigs, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Work on power-transmission systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Erect and align simple machine tools and test accuracy.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.

Qualification:

Passed 10th Grade with Science & Mathematics (or equivalent)

2 years (3200 hours total)
