Sewing Technology is a one-year vocational program under the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS), conducted by the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
It provides professional skills and employability knowledge for the apparel and fashion sector, covering stitching, pattern drafting, garment construction, and finishing techniques.

Apparel / Fashion & Garment Making
National Trade Certificate (NTC)
Make hand stitches on fabric following industrial safety standards.
Stitch seams, darts, pleats, tucks, gathers, frills, hems, casings, plackets, collars, sleeves, and cuffs.
Draft, cut, and assemble patterns for various garments.
Fix fasteners (buttons, hooks, press studs, zippers) and mend fabric neatly.
Design and sketch ladies’, gents’, and kids’ wear.
Construct garments such as tops, suits, nightwear, sari blouses, kurta-pyjamas, shirts, and trousers.
Operate and maintain industrial sewing machines (lock-stitch, over-lock, zigzag, button hole and sewing machines).
Follow quality inspection procedures and finishing techniques.
Defines the required qualifications, training methods, and instructor guidelines to ensure skill development meets industry standards.
